The Wellness Community: Cancer Support, Education and Hope. Recommendation Letter
June 14, 2007
To Whom It May Concern:
The Wellness Community is pleased to support Pure Romance in their efforts to bring Sensuality, Sexuality and Survival! programs to women seeking to improve their intimate relationships after a diagnosis of breast cancer.
The Wellness Community is a national non-profit organization that provides education, support, and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. Services provided by The Wellness Community are free of charge, professionally facilitated, and designed to empower people affected by cancer.
The Wellness Community has hosted three SSS programs for our participants over the past two years. Our participants have been eager to learn what they can do to address the many complications that breast cancer and its treatment have created in their intimate relationships. The SSS program has provided useful, sound information delivered in a safe environment by SSS professionals who are experts in the field. Our participants have found the programs enlightening and enjoyable. They report feeling relieved to learn they are not alone in their struggles, and delighted to learn there is hope! The SSS presenters have complied without hesitancy to our no-sales policy, and also have willingly refrained from giving what could be surmised as medical advice, both important practices at a Wellness Community.
It is without reservation that we support efforts to offer Sensuality, Sexuality and Survival in other communities.
Sincerely,
Bonnie Byers Crawford, MSW, LISW
Program Director
