Why I Became a Consultant

I’ve always wanted to be a business owner. I wanted to have the flexibility of work hours. I looked into several “home based businesses”. I love Pampered Chef, but everything was so expensive. Creative Memories looked fun, but not everyone scrapbooks. The thought of trying to earn a “Pink Car” with Mary Kay crossed my mind.

I do work part time as a nurse in a Trauma/Neuro ICU. I’ve been a nurse for almost 20 years. As I get older, I question myself “Do I want to keep doing this when I am in my 50’s? I am just past 40 and feeling it”. I do like my day job, but it can be physically and emotionally stressful.

I am also a single Mom with two young kids. I can’t always count on child support. As I write this, it’s near the end of March and no child support check has arrived, yet. My daughter’s childcare is equivalent of a mortgage payment—I also have one of those, along with a car payment and credit cards.

Before Pure Romance, I scheduled myself to work extra hours—which were not always guaranteed. My shifts are 12 hours and that’s a long time to be on your feet, especially when it’s so busy you don’t get a break.

The answer to my personal goal of owning a business and financial security came at my first Pure Romance Party. As I watched the Consultant, she looked like she was having fun. I was having fun!! I loved the products! I loved the prices! My friends kept telling me I should do this, I would be great at it!! My neighbor and I decided to host a party.

We received a lot of free stuff at our party! The girls were buying, we had so much fun!!

I signed up the following week, nervous and unsure. My sponsor was by my side and guided me through the entire process. Corporate made it so easy with our website. The support from other Consultants has been phenomenal!! I love our bimonthly meetings and conference calls. Pure Romance offers an all day training session several times throughout the year. Did I mention—Annual Convention is in Vegas!! –I am there!!

Oh, yeah, can we say lots of FREE product!! Several ways to win Bonuses, Trips, and Cars!! Better yet, I make more money in a couple of hours with a Pure Romance Party, than working extra for 12 hours on my feet, not being guaranteed a break. In June 2008, Pure Romance sent me on an all-expense paid trip to the Ritz-Carlton Resort and Spa in Naples, Florida!!
